What Flominzo does for Canadian payment businesses

Flominzo gives Canadian payment businesses agentic payments with 100% reconciliation. Your team, or an AI agent working inside the mandates and limits you set, turns a request into a controlled payment instruction. Flominzo then reconciles every payment against the provider’s response, the settlement report, and your bank statement.

100% reconciliation means every payment ends either matched against independent evidence - the provider’s records, the settlement file and the bank statement - or as an open exception with an owner and a reason. None is silently assumed paid.

It is built for money services businesses, remittance fintechs, payout platforms, insurers and lenders, and finance teams. Flominzo is connected through rail adapters to the providers you use; rails, markets and activation are agreed for your deployment.

Canadian payment rails and what reconciling them involves

Canada combines batch transfers, a widely used person-to-person network, and a high-value system. Each one leaves a different trail, and a payment can be sent without yet being received.

RailWhat it isWhat reconciliation has to prove
EFT (AFT)Batch credits and debits cleared through Payments Canada’s Automated Clearing Settlement System, usually submitted as CPA 005 files.Credits land after the batch settles and returns arrive later. Tie each return to the original item and reverse it in the ledger.
Interac e-TransferTransfers addressed by email or phone number, including business bulk disbursements.Sent is not received. A transfer can wait for deposit, be cancelled, or expire, so sent, deposited, and returned outcomes must be kept apart.
LynxPayments Canada’s high-value payment system for real-time settlement between financial institutions.Fewer, larger items. Match each one exactly to the statement and any charges.
Real-Time RailPayments Canada’s new real-time payment system, planned to launch in phases from late 2026.Assessed as it becomes available to your providers.

Typical Canadian flows

  • Outbound remittance: CAD collections paid out in corridors such as India and the Philippines, where the partner’s payout and its settlement must both be proven.
  • Earnings and marketplace payouts: contractors, sellers, and creators paid by EFT or Interac e-Transfer.
  • Claims and disbursements: insurance claims, refunds, and loan disbursements where each payment needs its own proof.
  • Business payments: vendor runs and payroll where each line has its own outcome.

Flominzo keeps the original instruction separate from every execution attempt, so an uncertain outcome is investigated, not paid twice.

Regulation and your licence

Money services businesses register with FINTRAC and carry anti-money-laundering reporting obligations. Payment service providers are supervised by the Bank of Canada under the Retail Payment Activities Act, which includes safeguarding end-user funds.

Flominzo keeps the evidence and decision history those obligations rely on: what was instructed, what each provider claimed, what settled, and who decided each exception.

Flominzo is software. It works through your licensed providers and banks, and your registration, safeguarding, and reporting obligations stay with you. Nothing on this page is legal or regulatory advice.

Bank statements and files

Flominzo’s statement parsers today read ISO 20022 camt.053 and camt.052, SWIFT MT940, and configured CSV layouts. Ask your bank which of these it can deliver for your accounts. CPA 005 return files, BAI2, and other bank-specific formats are assessed during scoping, and Interac and provider reports are mapped as evidence sources for your deployment.

How payment reconciliation works

Where to start

Start with one flow: for example, CAD to INR bank payouts through one partner, or one day of Interac e-Transfer payouts. Flominzo reads your existing transaction records and the evidence around them, and runs in parallel with your current process. Your systems keep their jobs while it runs.

  1. Map: agree identifiers, amounts, currencies, business dates, and which system owns each record.
  2. Run alongside: reconcile the same period your team already closed, and compare the results.
  3. Explain: every difference becomes an exception with its evidence, so you can see what the current process missed or resolved by hand.
  4. Decide: expand to more rails, corridors, or execution only when the agreed checks are met.

Questions

How does Flominzo treat an Interac e-Transfer that has not been deposited?

As an open payment. It stays visible until it is deposited, cancelled, or expires, and each outcome is recorded with its evidence.

Does Flominzo hold end-user funds?

Flominzo is software. Funds move through the licensed providers and banks you work with, and your safeguarding obligations stay with you.

Do AI agents move money?

No. Agents investigate and explain. Execution runs through deterministic controls, and the mandates, limits, and approvals you set govern every payment.
